'DWTS': Chad Ochocinco kicked off

The star of the National Football League and professional partner Cheryl Burke were expelled from the hit ABC series Tuesday, making the 100th couple kicked out of the ballroom for 10 seasons in the series.

Ochocinco came into Tuesday's results show in last place with 52 points on 60 for two dances. Judges scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which couple is eliminated each week.

Ochocinco and Burke were shy about their relationship during the season. Fans speculated the two can be more than friends, when the soccer star bought the pro dancer striking a diamond ring a week and a delicate diamond pendant the next.

They continued their shyness on Tuesday. Burke characterized their relationship as a friendship "special that will always mean the world to me. "Ochocinco said that the couple built during dance practice" will continue throughout life. "

He thanked Burke and cast of the program, calling their experience in the program "awesome."

"I enjoyed the trip," he said. "I met wonderful people, and I have some great reviews that only made me stronger, man.

"In my eyes, really, and I won."

Burke called his partner "The most incredible man, soft, soft in the world."

Ochocinco elimination came during a semifinal results show full of performances. Sarah McLachlan sang a medley of his songs; teams Rutgers and the Universities of Utah Valley University competed in the championship dance again, the former contestants Joey Fatone and Melissa Rycroft was a tango costumes chosen by the public, and Miley Cyrus, in a mesh and thigh high boots, she played her new single, "You can not be tamed."
